Questions to ask

  • Which municipality and county are my parcel in, according to my tax bill?
  • Are any sale-related certificates, inspections or transfer declarations required for my address?
  • What are the current tax and assessment records for my parcel?

For transfer paperwork, ask your closing professional whether a declaration or exemption applies and how charges are allocated. Illinois Department of Revenue transfer-tax guidance. Local requirements and transaction exemptions must be checked for your address; they are not inferred from a resource link.
